Online Bedrooms vs Hammonds

Minimum order value & total project cost

Looking for an alternative to Hammonds fitted bedrooms? Start with the complete cost of achieving the same design. An Online Bedrooms quote covers the supplied furniture. If you want an independent fitter to assemble it, include their charges in your comparison.

Ask Hammonds to confirm the current minimum order value, what the installation price includes, and the terms of any promotion or finance offer. These can change, so the written quotation should be your reference.

Online Bedrooms provides an itemised quotation so you can adjust the specification to suit your budget. View our current finance information. If you already have a competitor design, send it to our team for a furniture quote against your requirements.

Our Price Beater Promise applies to qualifying like-for-like written quotations and has specific eligibility criteria. Compare equivalent dimensions, construction, finishes, storage and delivery before deciding which route offers the best value for your project.

Internal options & wardrobe construction

Hammonds currently describes fully lined, front-frame and aluminium stanchion options. Its fully lined construction encloses the storage, while the front-frame option has open backs and sides. Ask which construction and interior finish are included in your particular design.

Online Bedrooms offers made-to-measure full cabinetry with 18mm MFC backs, sides, tops and bases, with a choice of internal colours and décors. We also offer a front-frame wardrobe range for customers who prefer that approach.

Compare usable hanging lengths, shelf depths, drawer quantities and the space taken up by the cabinet structure. The best arrangement depends on the room and what you need to store, rather than the construction name alone.

Product quality, materials & finishing details

Our wardrobe cabinetry uses melamine-faced chipboard (MFC): a chipboard core with a finished melamine surface. We make the cabinet panels to your dimensions at our Nottinghamshire factory and supply them ready for assembly.

Hammonds states that it uses MDF and MFC in its furniture. Ask each supplier to identify the material used for your chosen doors, cabinetry and finishing panels, because these components can have different specifications.

Hammonds advertises soft-close runners on its drawers, including internal drawers. Our made-to-measure wardrobes include soft-close doors and drawers, with 155° wide-angle hinges on hinged wardrobe doors.

When comparing quotes, check the number of drawers, hinges, handles and accessories included. Confirm the door finish and internal décor for the actual range being ordered, rather than assuming a brochure image shows the complete specification.

Delivery, fitting & lead times

Online Bedrooms is supply only. Your furniture arrives flat-packed, so you can assemble it yourself or book an independent fitter. Refer to our delivery information for current lead times and confirm the arrangements for your own order before booking a fitter.

Hammonds describes a process covering a design visit, technical survey and professional installation. Ask for the proposed survey, delivery and fitting dates in writing when you receive your quotation.

Compare the date the furniture will be ready to use, not just the delivery date. With Online Bedrooms, allow for your own assembly time or your fitter’s availability. With an installed service, check the fitting schedule and any room preparation you need to arrange.

Our assembly instructions help you assess the work before deciding whether to assemble the furniture yourself.

Guarantee & aftercare

Hammonds currently advertises a 10-year guarantee covering workmanship and materials for fitted furniture, with exclusions and terms. Ask for the guarantee applicable to your chosen range and any aftercare charges in writing.

Online Bedrooms provides a 15-year cabinetry guarantee. Modern MFC doors have a 15-year guarantee, while vinyl-wrapped Shaker doors have a 6-year guarantee. Accessories and sliding components have their own periods and exclusions.

Our guarantee is for a supply-only product and does not cover installation labour or consequential fitting costs. The cover for the cabinetry, doors, accessories and installation should be compared separately.

Read the Online Bedrooms guarantee for the component terms, care requirements and claims process.

Designs, measurements & quotes

Hammonds offers a free home design visit, followed by a technical survey and installation process. That route may suit you if you want the supplier to visit, measure and fit the furniture.

Online Bedrooms works remotely. You measure your space and share your storage ideas with our design team online or by telephone. We work with you on a free 3D design and itemised quotation, and you choose how to arrange assembly.

If you already have a Hammonds design, send us the dimensions, layout and specification. We’ll prepare a furniture quote as close to your requirements as possible so you can compare the complete project costs.
