What are Face Frame Fitted Wardrobes?
Put simply, it's a wardrobe that has no internal carcass, with no solid backs, sides, tops or base. Our face frame fitted wardrobes are a made to measure frame system made from 18mm MFC that the doors hang on, with some side scribe panels on each side, then plinths on the top and bottom to give the full fitted wardrobe look.
Face frame wardrobes are different to fully fitted wardrobes. They are not genuinely made to measure, they are made to order and some cutting is required during installation.
The internal options include hanging rails, shelving and drawers, with combinations of all three in various sizes. Any shelving and drawer systems still benefit from our fantastic quality 18mm MFC, but in a fixed colour. These units have no backs to keep costs low.
What is the depth needed to install?
The depth of the frame and doors alone is 140mm. If you choose internal storage with cabinets, please see the below.
- Your depth is less than 600mm, your internal storage will be 320mm deep
- Your depth is 600-699mm, your internal storage will be 460mm deep
- Your depth is 70mm, your internal storage will be 560mm deep
How easy are they to build?
If you've got some basic DIY skills then very easy indeed! A face frame fitted wardrobe should take half a day to a day to fit depending on size and choice of internal options. Everything arrives flat-packed, you simply fix the frame to the wall, hang the doors, drill holes for your handles (unless you choose our handleless doors) and then build the internals.
You may need to trim some of the pieces with a circular saw and use decorator's caulk to finish the panels against the wall for a nice fitted finish. You'll need a tape measure, screwdriver, drill, circular saw / jigsaw and a cup of tea/coffee. That's it!

We offer a range of décors and colours for the frame and door system. We have two modern and two traditional door styles in over 10 colours and finishes, so there's something for all tastes and budgets.
Delivery & Returns
How much will delivery cost?
- £89 delivery charge if the order is under £1500, and delivery is not long distance.
- Orders over £1500 are offered with free delivery.
If you live in Scotland, Cornwall, Devon or not mainland UK, this is classed as long distance and delivery cost is £199 on all orders.
When will it be delivered?
Due to items being made to order, delivery can take 2-4 weeks.
Do we accept returns?
